For jazz lovers it is the Bible. For critics it is the album that all enthusiasts must know. Since it was recorded in 1959, Kind of Blue has sold millions of copies worldwide and has one of the most important albums of its era. In a year that marked great events jazz history, Miles Davis brought together his legendary sextet – John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderley, Jimmy Cobb, Paul Chambers and Wynton Kelly – and in two sessions of improvisation created a timeless masterpiece. 50 years later Ashley Kahn opens the doors of the Columbia studio on 30th Street in Manhattan and transports the reader to that day in March when the recordings began. The presentation takes place on the 12th of July at 3:00 pm at the Hotel Brufani.
